It's Beginning to Look alot like Christmas

We are in full Christmas mode! We started the weekend off at Breakfast with Santa at the boys' school. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast of pecan-glazed french toast, sausage & egg casserole, Chick-fil-A chick-n-minis, donuts, and fresh fruit. I guess they threw in the fresh fruit so it wouldn't be a complete carb fest! We skipped the long line for a visit with Santa; Jack said that he had already seen Santa at the mall so no need to talk with him again. Fine by me...we headed to the craft room.

Jack enjoyed making a card to send to a wounded soldier as well as a door hanger for his room.

Will....well, Will enjoyed decorating himself with the foam stickers! This kid really has a love of body art! I see tattoo issues in our future.

And when he wasn't decorating himself, he decided to eat the stickers. And you can see on his face that I had just told him not to eat the stickers, but it is so hard to resist just one little taste!

There was also a storytime with Mrs. Claus and Jack had to sneak in a quick hug with Mrs. Claus. Hopefully, Santa didn't see!

We left Breakfast with Santa and went on the search for the perfect Christmas tree. The Christmas tree is to Brent what the Christmas card is to me. We went to our favorite nursery first but didn't find 'the one'. Next, we went to Big John's Christmas Trees, walked right up and there it was waiting for us! The perfect Christmas tree: beautiful shape, just the right fullness, perfect height, and fresh cut (we did the needle test). So we loaded her up and walked next door to Starbuck's to celebrate!

I must put a plug in for the new Peppermint Mocha Twist frappuccino...it is delicious! You must treat yourself to one =). Brent's new drink is the venti mocha latte with a shot of espresso. And just a warning to those considering adding the shot: the venti mocha latte already has two shots in it! I would be plastered to the ceiling! So we are sitting in Starbucks, Brent and I are talking and the boys are playing nicely around our table. In mid conversation, Brent and I look over at the empty table next to us and there is Jack drinking from someone's left behind milk box!!! I almost died right there! I could feel my eyes bugging out of my head! At that point, all we could do was laugh (and wonder just what kinds of infectious diseases we would be bringing home from Starbuck's). Jack had no idea what was so funny. A quick little etiquette (and health) lesson was given.

Christmas decorating this year much more fun because Jack was so excited about helping and was actually a big help (not the 'it takes 4 hours to do a 1 hour job' kinda help). He helped Brent string the lights (no profanity was uttered in the hanging of the lights!), he helped me put out the carolers and the nativity set, he helped Brent decorate the yard, and he practically hung all the ornaments on the tree himself. I told him I would call Santa to see if the North Pole needed any extra help because he would make a great little elf! Jack has declared our house "a beautiful winter wonderland!"

Will would fit in perfectly in our house right now. If it aint bolted to the floor, it is going in someone's mouth.

Neal spent five minutes getting our tree. It leans and has a huge whole in it. When he called to say he had it and was heading home, i thought he was joking. Nope, he spent a total of 25 mins getting the tree and that is with travel time.

Oh, that would never do with Brent. We have to find the perfect tree. But I understand...because I have to have the perfect picture for our card.

Maybe next year, you leave Neal home with the boys and you go pick out a tree!
