This is for all you ladies who are raising sweet, girly girls....
We were at swim team practice this afternoon, although the kids aren't actually in the water this week because our pool isn't quite ready from the renovations. They'll be in the water next week, but that hasn't stopped any of the boys from getting wet! After "practice" (which consists of getting-to-know-your-teammates games), you will find about 6-8 little boys playing and wading in our neighborhood creek. Not surprisingly, Jack is the first one in!
Today, I tried to stop Jack from going in the creek because I had hoped that tonight would be a no bath night, but really keeping Jack out of water is an exercise in futility. He promised, "But I won't get dirty, Momma!" Next thing, I look over and he is knee deep in mud...baths for everyone tonight!
After about 30 minutes, I make Jack get out of the creek and this is what he says, "I ate a bug and it was good!"
WHAT?!?!? I don't even pretend to understand.
"Why did you eat a bug?"
"Because I wanted to see what it tasted like."
So next time your sweet little girl is acting too prissy, just remember she could be eating BUGS!
