Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend with my family. Everyone was there, so the dining room Thanksgiving table was filled shoulder to shoulder and the children had their own table in the kitchen. I think all of the boys liked sitting together, especially the little ones...they felt so big. We had all of the traditional, delicious sides, but this year instead of our usual fried turkey, we tried the turducken stuffed with shrimp and crawfish dressing. It was so good! Might become a new tradition!

I did a little Santa shopping on Black Friday. I am not a usual Black Friday shopper. I have always said that I would rather pay full price than fight those crazy people over some Legos! And after the reports of the Walmart employee death, it looks like it is alot safer to do your shopping online (which is my preferred method). But for some reason, I wanted to do a little shopping Friday morning. So I waited until about 10:30, thinking that was enough time for all the crazy people to have cleared out. Found a few things, and then had a date to take Jack to see Madagascar 2. It was cute but the first Madagascar was better.

We woke up Saturday morning to a down pour. Normally I would be excited since we are in drought conditions, but we were going to the Iron Bowl. I was not thrilled about sitting out in the pouring rain, and I did say we were going to the game! Fortunately, it was just foggy and cool before and during the game, couldn't have asked for better weather considering what we expected.

Here is a picture of our group getting ready to head over to the campus:

We were walking around the Quad enjoying all of the pregame festivities, tailgating, watching the team buses go by, and I hear "Pride on 3, Pride on 3!" I whip around and there is Roger Schultz! Roger Schultz played center for the University of Alabama football team from 1986-90 and was on The Biggest Loser season 5. I love The Biggest Loser show (actually I should blog about that) and have watched every show since season 2. Of course, I watched Roger, cheered him on, voted for him, and was happy to see him come in second place (Ali was the winner). So we had to get a picture with him!
Mom, Roger, Roger's son, and Me

Roger looks good...still skinny and just the nicest, friendliest person! Truly, no airs about him. Meeting Roger was one of the highlights of the day. And the game....well, what can I say, other than I am still hoarse from all of the yelling! It was incredible! A total beatdown! And I have never heard Rammer Jammer so loud! I am sure they heard it in Auburn.

We came home Sunday afternoon and I tell ya...it will take me all week to catch up on this laundry. I was completely caught up before we left town. Now the basket is overflowing again, and there are dirty clothes still in the suitcases. Why am I always behind on laundry?!?! I swear that it reproduces in the basket....
